Yasmin - Scholar

BA (Hons) in Acting at RADA

How are you involved in Warner Bros. Creative Talent?
I’m a first year actor at RADA and recipient of the Warner Bros. creative talent scholarship.
What does it mean to you to be part of Warner Bros. Creative Talent?
Not only does the financial help mean I can focus on my training without having to worry about things like paying the rent, the other side of the scholarship is invaluable, it means learning about aspects of the industry that I just wouldn’t have had a clue about otherwise. Being a part of Warner Bros. Creative talent means I’m going to graduate with a much clearer idea of how things in the industry work which is such a wonderful opportunity.
What do you hope to achieve in your career?
I want my work to change people, to challenge them, to make them think, laugh, cry or get really angry. The work of other actors that I most enjoy watching is that which throws me straight into their world and evokes a response from me.

I want my work to change people, to challenge them, to make them think, laugh, cry or get really angry.

Which Warner Bros. character would you be and why?
Gracie Hart (Sandra Bullock) in Miss Congeniality because she breaks down female stereotypes and isn’t ashamed of being an incredibly strong and career focused donut-eating woman.
Who do you most admire in the industry?
I’m a big admirer of Sally Hawkins. Her work has such integrity and variety, I love the fact she’s had wonderful performances both on stage and screen. She also seems to have avoided a lot of the celebrity culture and is only really known for her work.
