Chris - Scholar

MComp in Composition for Screen at the Royal College of Music

How are you involved in Warner Bros. Creative Talent?
I have only just begun my journey with Warner Bros. Creative Talent, so I am excited to find out what is in store for me now that my fees for the postgraduate course in Composition for Screen at the Royal College of Music have been generously covered by Warner Bros. I'm thrilled to have been chosen as a Prince William Scholar by them and I'm excited to get involved in the many events across the year!
What does it mean to you to be part of Warner Bros. Creative Talent?
To be part of this means that I can honestly say to myself now that I am on the road to building the career that I've always wanted. I'm also eager to meet many other talented individuals and professionals in the industry!
What do you hope to achieve in your career?
I want to build a career through which I will be able to live comfortably whilst writing music for good film, TV and game projects. As well as perfecting my skills in composing, orchestrating and conducting film music, I hope to extend my music to the ears of as many people as possible; if I can make people laugh, cry, or feel awe-inspired by what they're seeing and hearing, then I will have done my job well! If I can do this for a living one day, then I will have succeeded.

I hope to extend my music to the ears of as many people as possible.

What is your favorite Warner Bros. film, TV, game or theatre production?
I'm a huge fan of Gravity - an awesome film (with an awesome score!) that inspired me on many levels. Technically innovative and definitely not lacking in risky artistic choices that simply worked brilliantly. It didn't just give us bland action on a plate, but made us think a bit too, which I like.
Which Warner Bros. production would you most like to work on?
I'm intrigued by the upcoming 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them', not only because of what the story will entail but also how similar the score will be to many of the Harry Potter films, if at all. I'm sure that it would be an awesome film to work on, purely because the task of scoring such a big film would be mind-blowingly fascinating.
